Authentic Movement

Authentic Movement is a mindful movement exploration between a mover and a witness. The mover moves, guided by inner impulses, sensations, emotions, and/or thoughts in the presence of a witness. It can be used as a medium for research, reflection, improvisation practice, healing, and more. Its authenticity can support artistic practice in daily life and an opportunity to express creativity and spontaneity. The intentional presence of the witness allows the mover to explore his or her unconscious impulses more deeply. Both the mover and witness are increasing their awareness of self through this intentional relationship.

Practicing Authentic Movement has become part of my daily life, as to maintain and increase conscious awareness and to develop my ability to internally witness my own sensations, thoughts, and feelings.

I offer workshops in both group settings and individual sessions.

Performance

My strength and interest is in improvisation and instant composition, reading and sensing inner and outer impulses, the environment, and relationships with self and others.

I am very curious in the specific moment between impulse and response, and how that choice is influenced by the social, cultural, environmental, and traditional casting. That moment provides such a precious space for new choices.

As a constant learner, I am interested in and inspired by collaborations across different art forms and participating in projects of other artists and choreographers, as well as creating my own work for groups and solo performances.

Dance & Movement Therapy

Dance and Movement Therapy is the psychotherapeutic use of movement and dance to support the intellectual, emotional, motor functions, and well-being of the body, its functions, feelings and cognition. It looks at the correlation between movement, creative process, and emotions. This holistic approach draws upon elements inherent in dance, helping to achieve emotional, cognitive, physical and social integration.

I have trained in Australia, with work experiences in psychiatric settings in Switzerland and practice within therapeutic settings, mainly in the fields of age care, disabilities, and metal health.

I offer group or individual sessions.

Workshops

I enjoy developing and offering art, dance, and movement process for various groups across community and professional dance/performance. My aim is to make dance and movement accessible as art and a learning experience for people with diverse professional, personal, and cultural backgrounds. My workshops focus on using improvisation tools, fostering spatial and body awareness, supporting physical, mental, and emotional well-being, challenging body/mind perception of limitations, and increasing soft-skills.

I specifically enjoy working with mature movers, and have completed training in facilitating dance for older people in London, but I am also intrigued to play more with mixed age groups.

Mature Dancers Sessions

Being confronted with my own aging (and happily doing so) inspired my exploration into age related movement limitations. Strongly believing in neuroplasticity, I am researching into practices that support building new pathways in the brain to deal with those limitations and/or new options.

My blossoming into dance started very late in life and brought its challenges, but I realized that I bring a lot of life experience and enthusiasm into the dance and strongly believe that it is never too late… as long as you aim to be the best of yourself and not an Isadora Duncan.

The aim of my workshops for mature dancers is to support their relationship to their body, enhance soft-skills, challenge body/mind limitations, expand movement vocabulary, and to give space to creative expression and embodiment of their own story. I facilitate the sessions in a focused, creative, unconventional, and playful approach, which supports mental, physical, social, and emotional well-being, without losing the poetry of the artistic aspect.
